Regret, second thoughts, wondering about decisions made. Tuan Treu played some great guitar sweeteners here, and my solo might be my favorite I’ve played, maybe because it was improvised in one take. The timing is a bit off, but in my world of computer recording I try to keep things real-ish.
lyrics
Steps were never taken lead to steps that still remain
The more I live the more I fake it, the more is in vain
Steps I should have taken lead to steps that will remain
The more I live, the more I’m shaking, the more I delay
Oooh, we discussed so much
In your room, late at night in the light
With the moon, and the tunes of the underground played
You had it all figured out
and you moved through your world with no doubt
How do you make it through all the days in your way?
I’ll never read that pile of books
But I can hope and I like how they look, oh yeah
In the valley with the floating path
I’ll be gone, I’m not coming back, oh yeah.
Steps were never taken lead to steps that still remain
The more I live, the less I love, the more I dismay
Steps I should have taken lead to steps that will remain
The more I live, the more I’m shaking, I fall away
We used to be enlaced
And me, I’m just spinning in place
So slow, drawings circles with sticks in the snow
You can dance with the rest of the pack
I’ll be waiting in the room in the back, oh yeah
If you see me in a photograph
You can stay in your cul-de-sac oh yeah
Steps were never taken lead to steps the will remain
The more I linger on the horizon the more I complain
Steps I should have taken lead to steps that still remain
The more I live, the more I hate, it all goes away.

When not in the studio, Crash Cadet can be found at the local pop-culture dispensary, worshiping at its gaudy gates, huffing its latest abstract concoctions, and passing out in the nearby alley....more
